The Gardjito | Extra Virgin Coconut Oil (Part 1)

Virgin Coconut Oil is a specific Fatty Acid (MCT - Medium Chain Triglyceride or MCFA - Medium Chain Fatty Acid) that consists of Lauric Acid the most important ingredient for human health.  Virgin Coconut Oil is not a fat, it is oil that will not coagulate in the body.

Extra VCO is VCO that is made through a frozen methode that will produce a fresh nice smell of coconut of the oil. It is processed only in very short time of period that will assure the freshness of the product (www.sumberrejekitgci.com).

The Gardjito Extra VCO is produced in clusters at remote areas of Indonesia which is organic and clean, some are located in green islands of Indonesia.

Coconut oil and coconut milk is produced from coconut fruit so that is does not contain cholesterol as many believe. It is final that black campaign towards this amazing oil does not work anymore. People are smart now to understand about this miracle oil. It is miracle because this oil maintain human metabolism and protect us from various viral, bacterial, protozoan borne diseases.

Coconut tree (Cocos nucifera) is grown in all parts of the tropics and sub tropics. The tree is believed to have originated in the islands of South-east Asia and spread to other parts of the world floating on water or carried by man. Indonesia is the largest coconut tree plantation in the world with its 3.8 million hectares coconut plantation. Coconuts, in the form of extracted coconut oil or as the the whole coconut, fresh or desiccated, have provided an important source of nutrients for people where this fruit tree is grown.

Extra Virgin Coconut Oil consists approximately 49% of its fatty acid as the 12 carbon saturated fatty acid called as lauric acid. Because of its high lauric acid content, coconut oil is used as the source of lauric acid for human which is important for infant formulas. This fatty acid is found in human milk where it plays a very critical role in infant nutrition. Lauric acid has antimicrobial properties and is the precursor to monolaurin, the antimicrobial active lipid. The remaining fatty acid in coconut oil include 8%  caprylic acid, 7% capric acid, 18% myristic acid, 8% palmitic acid, 2% stearic acid, 6% oleic acid, and 2% linoleic acid. The typical tocopherol and tocotrienol content is 5 mg/kg alpha-tocopherol , 6 mg/kg delta-tocopherol, 5 mg/kg alfa-tocotrienol, 1 mg/kg beta-tocotrienol, and 19 mg/kg gamma-tocotrienol for a total of 36 mg/kg.

Coconut oil is also the major source of the fatty acid found in the medium-chain triglycerides oil called MCT oil. MCT oil is approximately 75 percent caprylic acid (C8:0) and 25% capric acid (C10:0). It has been used for special medical formulas during the past several decades .

Health Benefits of Coconut Oil
Coconut oil has been used as a cooking oil for thousands of years, and is still a staple in the diets of many people living in tropical areas today. It was once popular in the United States as well, until shortages of imported oils during WWII created the need to promote local oils like soybean and corn oil. Soon, polyunsaturated fats became the norm in the US; and with it came a rise in obesity, higher cholesterol levels, and degenerative diseases related to aging.

TGCICoconut oil has been shown to reduce the symptoms of digestive disorders, support overall immune functions, and to help prevent bacterial, viral and fungal infections. People who consistently use coconut oil, report changes in their ability to go without eating for several hours without experiencing the effects of hypoglycemia.

Extra Virgin Coconut Oil has tremendous antiviral properties. Lauric Acid makes up 50 to 55 percent of the medium-chain fatty acids in Extra Virgin Coconut Oil. In the body lauric acid converts into monolaurin, a compound which is adept at fighting viral pathogens, and is also present in large quantities in breast milk, where it protects infants from viral, bacterial and parasitic infections. Coconut oil has a unique role in the diet as an important physiologically functional food.

The health and nutritional benefits that can be derived from consuming coconut oil have been recognized in many parts of the world for centuries. A review of the diet/heart disease literature relevant to coconut oil clearly indicates that coconut oil is at worst neutral with respect to atherogenicity of fats and oils and, in fact, is likely to be a beneficial oil for prevention and treatment of some heart disease.
Additionally, coconut oil provides a source of antimicrobial lipid for individuals with compromised immune systems and is a non-promoting fat with respect to chemical carcinogenesis.
